The weekend before we left for the beach, a hurricane hit the OBX...so that was a bit stressful. Fortunately, the cottage we rented was not damaged and we were still able to go and enjoy our vacation. Of course, while we were there, another hurricane was brewing up along the coast, which caused the ocean to be pretty rough. It was still gorgeous as ever, though, and I was able to relax and enjoy doing nothing. Of course, I would say I've had a pretty relaxed and easy summer as it was...a month in Europe, then sitting by a pool lifeguarding all day. Yeah, it doesn't get much easier than that. But I digress. It was nice to relax and enjoy vacation because......I actually had a job to go to when I got back from vacation!
Yes, finally, I'm working in the industry that I've always been so interested in. I am interning for a Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations agency in town, as well as interning for a UFL football team doing Public Relations work. I'm really excited about these opportunities, and I hope to soon be working full-time in the industry. Right now, I've never been more certain about my change of plans - I dropped out of law school this past March because I hated it, and I've never looked back. I LOVE the Marketing/PR industry and I am so thrilled to have these internships doing exactly what I want to do.
So now that I'm doing something I'm passionate about, I'm really able to just enjoy every day. I am looking forward to Fall and football season...which I pretty much missed out on last Fall when I was slaving away in law school. I'm looking forward to learning new things, using my college degree, and enjoying having time to spend with family and friends for once :) I've always thought of Fall as a new beginning, because for the past 17 years, I had been starting a fresh, new school year. Now, Fall is a new beginning because I am finally starting my career and I'm no longer a student. Crazy, but exciting!
Here's to football, Pumpkin Spice lattes, and new beginnings :)
